Dr. John Holtsclaw is a distinguished New Jersey based physician who has devoted his medical career to easing the plight of those afflicted by addiction and substance dependence. Dr. Holtsclaw has tirelessly dedicated himself to advancing medical knowledge and providing exceptional patient care.
Dr. John Holtsclaw studied for his Doctor of Medicine Degree at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. He then continued his studies at Indiana University where he earned advanced degrees and became Board Certified in Pediatrics and Internal Medicine.
Dr. Holtsclaw maintained a private practice for several years but then he chose to explore the care and treatment options for patients affected by addiction. He earned certification in Addiction Medicine and is the founder and medical director of several Medication-Assisted Treatment programs in New Jersey.
For over 18 years, Dr. Holtsclaw has been the Medical Director of Camden Treatment Associates and is also managing the Urban Treatment Associates. He is a member of NJATOD and has worked to deliver mobile care for addiction treatment. He is currently the director of the Opioid Overdose Prevention program for southern New Jersey.
